Have a look in a specialised edition for olive growing in the island of Lesvos that was published by the agri-magazine PLATEIA where our work into supporting Producer Organizations in olive oil to design and implement their operational programmes was presented.

Our journey has just begun! The kick-off meeting of our newly started HorizonEurope project Shield4Grape in Turin has been amazing! In the next 3 years new breeding techniques, hybrids and local grape varieties and IPM practices will be identified and tested for increasing resilience against pathogens.

Our company participated last week in a number of events that were organised by EU CAP Network. On the 20th of February the company manager Christos Karatzas presented in Brussels the outcome of the session focusing on raising awareness for eco-schemes on the 2nd meeting of the TG for implementing eco-schemes. The next two days our colleague Christos Lymperopoulos participated in the workshop for lifelong learning for agricultural advisors, that took place in Vienna. Both events offered valuable insight for our work and strengthened our European network.

During the 1st meeting of the Thematic Group on the design and implementation of eco-schemes, organized by EU CAP Network, AGRENAOS had the opportunity to present the advisors’ perspective on this hot issue. The presentation by Christos Karatzas focused on the current challenges that farmers face in the new CAP but also on the opportunities for farm advisory services to inform them about the new green architecture and support the farming community to implement more environmentally friendly practices. For more info about the event: https://lnkd.in/d8_yTya2

On the 23rd of October AGRENAOS participated in a webinar titled “Establishing, Financing and Development of Innovative Producer Groups & Cooperatives”, organized by the Center for Agri-Food Entrepreneurship of Messinia (KAEM). The presentation was given by Mr. Panagiotis Nasis and was focused on setting up, organizing and managing agricultural collective schemes. A large number of producers attended the webinar and a session for questions and discussion on the topic followed after the presentation.

AGRENAOS participated in the 12th European Entomological Conference held in Heraklion, Crete, between 16-20 October 2023. Our staff members, Panagiotis Nasis and Christos Limperopoulos attended the conference and had interesting discussions with the scientific community, gaining knowledge for new practices that will be disseminated to our producers.

AGRENAOS had the opportunity to attend the EU CAP Network Brokerage event – ‘Connecting opportunities and maximising synergies for Horizon Europe multi-actor projects’ in Antwerp, Belgium on 19 and 20 October 2023, as one of the many participants from many Member States of EU.

European Commission has commissioned an evaluation of the Small Aegean Islands (SAI) aid scheme during the previous programming period 2014-2020. We invite all farmers to take part in a short anonymous questionnaire that will enable the survey to collect data to be analysed in order to evaluate this scheme. The few questions in the survey concern the specific supply arrangements (SSA) and support for local production (SLP), the administrative costs associated with these aids and their relevance to the challenges of environmental and digital transition. Your participation in this survey would be very useful for improving European Union policies, particularly as regards the possible future implementation of SAI.  The link to the questionnaire:

The evaluation is performed by Agrosynergie and Agrenaos has been contracted as the national expert for Greece.

AGRENAOS was approved by the Greek Managing Authorities for providing farm advisory services in the region of Peloponnese, as one of the 8 approved advisory companies in that region, under the measure 2 of the RDP 2014-22. After the official recognition of our company, informative workshops will be organised for farmers, setting the scene for providing a wide range of supporting services for farmers and agricultural cooperatives including how to implement the eco-schemes and supporting transition to integrated or organic production.

The project SHIELD4GRAPE (S4G), under the Biodiversity call in Cluster 6 of Horizon Europe was recently approved, receiving the maximum score! The project will adopt sustainable agroecological approaches addressed to improve the resilience of the viticultural system against pest diseases in a context of climate change. The S4G consortium brings together the best excellences in the sector; it is multi- and interdisciplinary, collaborative and well representative of different EU bio-geographical regions.

Our company will lead the WP focusing on supporting and training farmers and advisors to adopt tolerant grapevine genotypes and IPM practices and will disseminate the innovations developed by the project in the farming sector.
