Agrenaos, in cooperation with Centre for Agri-food Entreprenership in Messinia, is co-organising a workshop focusing on farmers’ benefits from participating in producer groups in the olive oil sector. The meeting will take place on the 5th of July at 18.30, in Diavolitsi village.

AGRENAOS had the unique opportunity to attend the EU CAP Network workshop ‘Innovative arable crop protection – using pesticides sustainably’ in Amsterdam, Netherlands that took place on 19- 21 April 2023, as one of the 60 participants from all Member States of EU.

The Operational Group responsible for implementing the project Μ16ΣΥΝ-00074 “Integrated management of Tuta absoluta in greenhouse tomato” (ZERO TUTA) is inviting you to fill in the following questionnaire. Its objective is to review the current agronomic practices for monitoring and control of Tuta absoluta, the current phytosanitary state as well as the know-how and expertise regarding plant protection methods in greenhouse tomato.

Agrenaos participated this year in multiple Horizon 2023 calls, in Cluster 6, as partner in consortia targeting integrated pest management in the following destinations:

a) Biodiversity and ecosystem services

β) Fair, healthy and environment-friendy food systems

γ) Innovative governance, environmental observations and digital solutions in support of the Green Deal

Our first Operational Groups, focusing on innovative practices for pest management, were kicked off last week. Agrenaos will be coordinating the OGs and the projects’ activities will take place in the Region of Crete. In particular the OGs are:

AGRENAOS had the unique opportunity to attend the EU CAP Network Brokerage event – ‘Get involved in Horizon Europe advisory networks’ in Sofia, Bulgaria on Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 January 2023 as one of the 80 participants from all Member States of EU.

Training sessions for olive oil farmers in Lesvos were organised as part of their operational program, funded by EU and dedidated to producer organisations. The sessions focused on issues related to autumn plant protection, pruning, grafting and harvesting under the guidance of Michalis Papailiakis, field agronomist at the Mediterranean University.

An intensive, three-day training, of olive producers in Messinia was organised by Agrenaos, in cooperation with the Agricultural Cooperatives of Mouzaki, Nilea and Ampelofito that are seated in the area.

The training of the producers focused on topics related to fertilization, pruning, implementing models of Sustainable Olive Management and harvesting under the guidance of Dr. Ioannis Metzidakis, research agronomist and former director of the National Research Institute of Chania.

Agrenaos participated in a workshop coordinated by WWF as part of the project “Transforming small – scale coastal fisheries of Mediterranean Sea”.

The purpose of the meeting was to cover the gaps in knowledge of fishermen and present the advantages for setting up a fishing cooperative or a producer organization. Our team gave all the necessary information while a discussion followed with the fishermen and the rest of the technical advisors of the working group.

Agrenaos, a certificated provider for advisory services by ELGO-Dimitra, organizes a two–day informative wokshop for farmers about the current Sub-Measure 2.1: Provision of advisory Services in the Agricultural Sector and invites all the producers of Messinia and anyone interested to attend the event.
The workshop will take place on:

2. Friday, 24^th of June at 19:30, City Council Chamber at the City Hall of Filiatra.
