Christos Karatzas, MSc Agronomist – Agricultural Consultant (AGRENAOS) and Coordinator of our European CAP4YOU project (cap4you.gr), in an interview with T-PRESS web tv on the program “Agricultural Development,” spoke about the importance of agricultural advisors for the primary sector and the innovative CAP4YOU project, extensively discussing his views on agricultural policy through the CAP4YOU project.

The operational groups of M16 ZeroTuta and DacoTech completed their work with great success. We are doubly proud because the innovations developed were put into practice in vegetable and olive crops where they were applied and because their results were presented as good practices in the EU CAP Network. Its goal is to modernize, optimize, and improve the accuracy of the application of the Bait Spraying Method for controlling olive fly.

We have demonstrated that systematic monitoring and special training for agricultural advisors can reduce the use of chemical pesticides while retaining the same production levels and gain farmers’ trust.

AGRENAOS has supported producers in various regions of Greece to set up new agricultural cooperatives by rallying, informing and organising them. Our services include the preparation of all the administrative and technical documents that are required for the recognition of the collective scheme as well as the drafting of a business plan including a set of activties that farmers can implement during the next 5 years. AGRENAOS participated as a national expert in the study for the evaluation of the support schemes for the Small Aegean Islands granted to farmers for the period 2014-20. The study was coordinated by Agrosynergie on behalf of the European Commission, while the evaluation of the scheme in Greece was carried out by AGRENAOS on the basis of questionnaires and a literature review.

• sustainable management of soil,
• integrated management and certification of olive oil production
• training of farmers for innovative and sustainable agronomic practices,
• certification of management systems according to international standards for traceability (ISO 22005:2005) and food safety (ISO 22000:2018),
• comminication and dissemination activities
